Dr. Kristina Janson grew up in northwest Iowa and knew she wanted to pursue veterinary medicine from a young age. She completed a B.S. in Animal Science at Iowa State University and went on to graduate from Iowa State's College of Veterinary Medicine in 2011. Following veterinary school she completed an internship at New Jersey Equine Clinic and residency in large animal reproduction at the University of Pennsylvania, leading to board certification as a specialist in Theriogenology (Reproduction). Dr. Janson has extensive experience in all aspects of Equine breeding management, including embryo transfer, and has presented at national and international meetings on topics of mare and stallion fertility. After residency, she moved to North Texas which has been her home ever since. She spent 3 years in high volume Equine reproduction practices before transitioning to mixed practice in 2018 which provided the opportunity integrate canine breeding into her clinical services. She loves the challenge and variety of general practice and is passionate about working with dedicated breeders. Outside of work Kristina enjoys hiking and agility training with her dog Winnie, competing in local triathlons and spending extra free time with family & friends.
Dr. Janson is excited to join the team at Gully Animal Hospital Midlothian and begin offering Equine and Canine breeding services.
